I want to share a few words about my encounter with God the Holy Spirit on the Sunday after Easter 2025.  During the worship there had been an invitation to know Jesus in your heart rather than just in your head. After a while of prompting within myself, I went to the back of the church and asked for prayer. Derek asked if I had ever experienced the Holy Spirit, to which I replied that I wasn’t sure. In prayer I repented of my sin and recommitted my life to Jesus Christ. Derek then prayed for the Holy Spirit to fill me from the top of my head to the tip of my toes. As the Holy Spirit filled me, I started to physically shake all over, and this was a good refreshing experience.

This experience of the Holy Spirit has enabled me to reconnect with God on a somewhat deeper level. Prayer life seems to be more engaging, and Bible stories seems to come to life more than they once did. I would encourage anyone who would like to encounter God’s Spirit, but has been pushing that to the back of their minds, to take the opportunity today and pray to be filled with God’s Spirit. You certainly won’t regret it.
